Our client requires a Credit & Risk manager to manage the Credit & Collections Departments across UK, Ireland, Netherlands & Belgium in a manner which ensures that there is a minimum risk to its business. To apply all relevant company policy at service centre and local market level.
Candidate Profile:
- You must be sustainably commutable or willing to relocate to the south midlands & will possess the following skills & experience.
- Exceptionally our client may be willing to consider hiring someone based from their Netherlands offices for this role but the preference is to hire a UK based manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement strategy locally in alignment with credit policies and group financial risk policies.
- Monitor and ensure correct execution of these policies.
- Manage business processes and drive improvements that create greater efficiency and control across the entire service centre.
- Monitor KPI?s and ensure delivery to agreed targets.
- Provide portfolio and trend analysis with appropriate recommendations based on gathered statistical and management information on the overall portfolio.
- Develop and maintain strong internal and external customer relationships.
- Monitor key responsibilities of direct reports and lead them in the achievement of objectives for their area of responsibility.
- Assess and ensure the competency of the direct reports and reinforce accountability through Management by Objectives and monitor target achievement.
- Organize Best Practices sharing and implementation within credit & operations.
- Develop a result-oriented working environment.
- Drive the cultural change within the credit & operations towards internal customer focus to truly live the service centre philosophy.
- Recruit, develop, train and retain talented people for the credit & operations Team.
- Manage the credit & operations team within the service centre on a day-to-day basis through given systems and procedures.
Education & Professional Experience:
- University degree required on Maths, Finance or Business Administration or equivalent would be desirable.
- Typically minimum of 5 years of credit and risk management preferably in the financial services industry.
- Credit & collections experience within the UK also the Belgium & Netherlands markets.
- Candidates with good experience at management level of both credit & collections functions but who do not have experience of Belgium & Netherlands but do have other international trans national experience are still encouraged to apply to be considered.
- Experience in managing and leading a credit and operations team.
- Experience in working in international environment.
Managerial Competencies & Skills:
- Good knowledge / understanding of financial services products and services.
- Profound knowledge of and experience in credit, collections and risk management.
- Is strong in implementation and consequent in monitoring the execution.
- Demonstrates managerial effectiveness (doing the right things) and efficiency (doing things right).
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Is target-driven, self-motivated and tenacious in achieving the set objectives.
- Ability to work under pressure whilst producing accurate output.
- Approachable and professional.
General Skills:
- High level of PC skills (Microsoft Excel, Power Point).
- Advanced level of English (oral/written).
