Bannister is a sporting legend after becoming the first athlete to run the sub four-minute mile in 1953. The majority of bookmakers have now suspended all bets on who will light the cauldron on Friday night, with only SkyBet and PaddyPower still taking wagers. Bannister is odds on favourite while the Queen is second choice at 6/4, closely followed by Redgrave at marginally a better price of 13/8.
