VINEYARD HAVEN, Massachusetts (AP) ? President Barack Obama is going before microphones and cameras this afternoon to discuss the fast-moving developments in Libya.
His statement is planned for 2 p.m. EDT (1900 GMT), according to his spokesman, Josh Earnest, who's with the vacationing president on Martha's Vineyard, an island off Massachusetts.
Earnest said Obama was updated early Monday by John Brennan, his deputy national security adviser, on the rebel seizure of much of Libya's capital, Tripoli. Obama is also hosting a secure conference call with his national security team from his rented farm complex.
Earnest added that as far as U.S. officials know, Moammar Gadhafi is still in Libya. He says there's "no information" that the Libyan leader has left.
